Made in Belgium: Daan updated
After the huge succes of the Manhay Album in 2009-2010, Daan reïnvented him once again (previously from dance to more rock) when he went into the studio with a percussionist & cellist to rerecord some of his music in the "simple" version. He toured with the album "simple" in theaters & churches to bring a much more pure & calm show.
In 2013 he launched the album LeFrancBelge , with lyrics all in French this time. In the midst of the economic crisis, the song La Crise makes a clear musical link to Greece with the recognisable sound of the sirtaki in it...yet they are not blamed for the crisis (youtube has a version with Greek subtitles on it, so that might be clear). I love the clip that reminds me visually to Ensor & Magritte for some reason. You can still see & feel that Daan was originally a graphical designer. Anyway, I love love La Crise as an earwurm!
